Veteran's Day
Today was Veteran's Day, and at Applebee's they gave out free meals to all veteran's and active military personnel. Starting out the day and setting everything up, I was very cranky and did not want to start the day at ALL! Then, I started watching all the cars pull up to the building I still wasn't very thrilled. I got my first table, and there was this reverence about the building that couldn't go unnoticed. I found myself smiling more and appreciating the day for what it's meant for. To see all of these men and women that fought in WWII and Vietnam...and actively fighting for our freedom, I was just amazed at their bravery! I didn't hear any war stories, I only saw metals of honor, honorable discharge papers, ID's and old military pictures, I even got to salute someone!! It was a beautiful day, even though it was cloudy outside, honestly...I really just enjoyed seeing all of those great people get a free meal for our freedom! Even though no one that came in today will see this, Thank you all for making this the best day I've had in a long time! Thank you for all that you've done for this country, and for all that you're doing! I really needed today to realize what this holiday is truly for! Thank you so much!
